Add work to focus areas

You can connect work from other Atlassian apps to your focus areas to show who’s executing those strategic priorities and how it’s going.

You can link existing Jira Align, Jira, and Atlassian Project work to focus areas of any type at any level.

Your product admin determines which Atlassian apps are connected to your Focus instance.

To add work items

  1. Find the focus area you want to edit by searching for it or by selecting Focus areas from the left navigation and finding it in one of the lists, like All focus areas, Your focus areas, or Following.

  2. Select the focus area you want to add work to. The focus area details appear.

  3. Select the Work tab.

  4. In the From dropdown, select the app containing the work you’d like to add. A list of Jira issues (epics or higher) or Jira Align epic work items displays.

  5. Select Add at the top of the table. The Add work panel appears.

  6. Select the app the work comes from in the From menu. Your product admin has determined which apps will appear in this list. If you don’t see a source you need, contact your admin.

  7. Select a Site that corresponds to the app selected in the From field.

  8. Use the Search field to enter specific keywords contained in the work item’s summary, enter the key of the work item, or paste a link to the item.

  9. Select Add. The work items selected appear in the table.

To unlink work items

  4. Use search or filter to find the work item.

  5. Scroll to the right on the work item row in the table and select the (More actions) menu.

  6. Select Unlink.
