Symptoms

After attempting to start Crucible on Windows, the following error is thrown:

1 C:\Program Files (x86)\Atlassian\Application Data\Crucible\bin\../fisheyeboot.jar was unexpected at this time.

Cause

This is an issue on Windows where Crucible cannot locate the proper installation files, because there are spaces in the full path to the Crucible install.

Git customers may also experience issues, as per a bug reported here.

Resolution

Please change the installation directory of Crucible to a directory that does not contain any spaces. For example: C:\Crucible.
