Windows Server Registry Entries contain references to older versions of Confluence

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Data Center KBs for non-Data-Center-specific features may also work for Server versions of the product, however they have not been tested. Support for Server* products ended on February 15th 2024. Summary

Windows Server Registry Entries contain references to older versions of Confluence. These entries weren't removed properly during Confluence upgrade.

Windows Registry contains entries similar to below:

  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\9713-8888-9999-6553 DisplayName = Confluence 5.9.3

  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\9713-8888-9999-6553 DisplayVersion = 5.9.3

Solution

You may safely remove the registry entries referencing the older versions of Confluence.
