Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.
Summary

For confluence free and standard plans the board limits: are Three active whiteboards per user. This means that each individual user can own up to three active whiteboards.
For Premium and Enterprise plans you can have Unlimited active whiteboards per user.
Solution
We notice many tickets where in the confluence free and standard plan users have their whiteboards suddenly turn into read-only.
In such cases, you case use this internal tool to verify if they have created more whiteboards which could have eventually turned the current ones to read-only here: https://app.amplitude.com/analytics/atlassian/chart/bb3qj5zw/edit/6fuao18c.
Also please note that the whiteboards are non-revertible which means once they are converted to read-only they cannot be made read-write again, you will have to create a new whiteboard and copy paste all the content from the previous whiteboard.
