  • Excerpt Include Macro

  • Include Macro

  • Attachments Macro

  • Chart Macro

  • Code Macro

The encoding has already been set to UTF-8 in the Confluence application, its database, and the application server. Running the encoding test returns successfully with the supplied testing string (Iñtërnâtiônàlizætiøn).

Cause

There is a misconfiguration in the proxy setting.

Resolution

Double check your proxy configuration against the recommendations in this documentation.

To determine if the proxy is the cause of the problem, temporarily bypass the proxy and access Confluence directly via IP:Port or localhost:port. Update Confluence Admin > General Configuration > Base URL with this new URL, then check if the same issue is reproducible.

Proxy configuration falls outside the scope of Atlassian Support. Atlassian will support Confluence with this configuration, but we cannot guarantee help in debugging problems with proxies.
