Summary

The Questions for Confluence plugin will add a button in all search results prompting users to 'Ask a Question' if they could no find the desired results in Confluence. This can be an issue if not all Confluence users have permission to access Confluence Questions. You can disable this module in the Add-ons page.

Solution

  • Log into Confluence as an internal administrator

  • Go to ⚙-> Add-ons -> All add-ons (from the drop-down)

  • Locate the Questions for Confluence Plugin

  • Click on the plugin to expand it

  • Expand the submodules (should be ~228 of 229 modules enabled)

  • Find the Search Sidebar 'Ask A Question' submodule

  • Click on 'Disable' to disable that submodule

  • Go back to the main page and try searching for something from the top right search bar
