How to change bullet style in a Confluence page

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. This is considered a customization and therefore isn't eligible for support as described in Atlassian Support Offerings. This has been tested in Confluence 4.3.3.
By default, in Confluence the bullet style will be a circle. You can change the bullet style on the global, space, or page level.

Change bullet style on global or space level
Navigate to the Stylesheet screen
If you would like to change the bullet style globally, navigate to Browse >> Confluence Admin >> Stylesheet
If you would like to change the style on a certain space, navigate to Browse >> Space Admin >> Stylesheet
Add the following CSS:

.wiki-content ul { list-style-type: square; }

Ensure that the HTML Macro is enabled
Insert an HTML Macro at the top of the page, and put the following as its body:
