How Do I Determine the Availability of a Plugin Source Code?

Platform Notice: Data Center Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the Data Center platform.

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Data Center KBs for non-Data-Center-specific features may also work for Server versions of the product, however they have not been tested. Support for Server* products ended on February 15th 2024. If you are running a Server product, you can visit the Atlassian Server end of support announcement to review your migration options.

*Except Fisheye and Crucible

As mentioned on our Licensing FAQ Atlassian provided source code for commercial, academic, and Starter License holders, allowing for in-house customizations and modifications. However some of Atlassian Add-ons source code are not included since some of it are "Closed-Source".

In order to identify the availability of the bundled plugins source code or any other plugins, you could access the plugin page on Atlassian marketplace. For example, Universal Plugin Manager is an Atlassian Closed Source as mentioned on the page, while you could see the link to the plugin source on Code Block Macro.
