'Failed to Load Main-Class Manifest Attribute' When Installing a Plugin

Symptoms
When attempting to install a plugin via it's .jar file we receive the following error.
Diagnosis
The .jar file is not an installer and cannot be run like a standard executable.

Follow the instructions for uploading a plugin from a .jar file at the following page.
