Confluence Source Editor Button Is Not Visible During Page Edit

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Problem

After installing the Confluence Source Editor plugin, you are supposed to see this <> button, at the top right corner whenever you Edit a page:

(Auto-migrated image: description temporarily unavailable)

This button will not be shown when you are creating a page (expected behavior).

In some cases, the button does not show, even when you edit a page.

Cause

Corrupted plugin caches in the database

Resolution

Rebuild the plugin cache, by performing the following:

  1. Shutdown Confluence

  2. Remove the following from the Confluence Home Directory:

    • plugins-cache

    • plugins-osgi-cache

    • plugins-temp

    • bundled-plugins
