Cause

The credentials configured in Confluence that will then be used to access JIRA does not match the configuration of Confluence application that has been setup in JIRA. In this case, this issue could be caused by instance migration to a new box that resulted in the changes of the IP address.

Resolution

  1. If you're not able to login to Confluence with the Confluence Internal Directory admin user account, then proceed with Step no. 2, otherwise, please proceed to Step no. 4.

  2. Recover the admin user rights of the Confluence Internal Directory on your Confluence instance by following the steps available in this documentation on how to restore passwords to recover user rights of your Confluence Internal Directory admin.

  3. Access Confluence with the newly updated admin user credentials.

  4. Please review the Step 1 described in the Connecting Confluence to JIRA for User Management. Please do ensure that the username and password pair you created for Confluence Application is correct.

  5. Try to re-snychronise this JIRA User Directory.

  6. Reattempt to access Confluence with the user belongs to this JIRA User Directory.
