Summary

When deleting a child page, Confluence displays a pop up dialog to confirm the deletion for the page. However, this is then followed by a second "Delete page" pop up dialog for the parent page. If an end user doesn't notice this and clicks to confirm the delete then the parent page is deleted as well, even though it wasn't intended to be deleted.

Confluence 7.19.x with Custom HTML codes.

Diagnosis

  • After clicking the child page's Delete option, Confluence displays a "Delete page" pop up confirming the deletion.

  • Click the Delete button.

  • Now, a second "Delete page" pop up displays, but for the parent page.
