Symptoms

  1. Blank 'What's new' dialog prompted when logging in to Confluence:

    (Auto-migrated image: description temporarily unavailable)
  2. Browse > What's New would result in the same blank dialog.

  3. No configuration on 'What's New' dialog URL (stored in your Confluence help-paths.properties file)

Cause

Override for What's New iframe source (whats-new-iframe-src-override) module from Confluence What's New Plugin is enabled when it should be disabled.

The whats-new-iframe-src-override flag allows internal and plugin developers to override the source of the content shown in the dialog. It's disabled because we rarely use it.

Resolution

  1. Go to Confluence Admin > Manage add-ons

  2. Find Confluence What's New Plugin

  3. Disable Override for What's New iframe source (whats-new-iframe-src-override) module
