Problem

Autoconvert doesn't work after you paste a URL in the editor. When you paste the URL, it will just display in a second then suddenly be removed from the editor. There is no error message thrown in the UI nor in the logs. For example, when you paste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XQlQGf0lnk to the editor, Confluence should autoconvert it to a widget connector macro like this:

However, you might see something like this instead:

(Auto-migrated image: description temporarily unavailable)

Note in your browser's error console. You will be seeing error 500 on /rest/tinymce/1/macro/placeholder call:

1 POST http://10.60.1.116:8090/rest/tinymce/1/macro/placeholder 500 (Internal Server Error)

Cause

"Widget Connector" plugin is disabled or a certain module of the plugin is disabled.

Resolution

Enable the "Widget Connector" plugin and ensure all the plugin modules are enabled.
