Can I claim an account workspace ID?
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.
Summary
The Bitbucket workspace ID is a unique identification defined the moment you create the workspace in Bitbucket cloud, it must be different from the other existent workspaces because it will be used as your account identification. Bitbucket gives users the right to claim the domain they want, despite this being part of an organization.
There's no distinction between private and public workspaces when referring to the ID, so in case you look for a Bitbucket workspace, and you can find it, that does not necessarily mean that this workspace ID has not been claimed already.
Solution
How to identify if the Workspace ID is already claimed when creating a workspace ID:
Select your profile and settings avatar in the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar.
Select All workspaces from the dropdown menu.
Select the Create Workspace button in the upper-right corner of the Workspaces page.
Enter a Workspace name. This name is what you see in the navigation in Bitbucket and what the other members of your workspace see in their invitation emails.
Enter a Workspace ID.
Click Create.
If the workspace ID is already claimed, you will see a message like this:

This can also happen when you try to Edit the workspace ID on your workspace Settings tab.
