Summary
When a Bamboo license expires, what happens to the Bamboo server? Will users still be able to log in and reference old builds, download old artifacts, or trigger builds? Are any parts of the product disabled?
Environment
Bamboo Data Center
Solution
Released in July 2021, Bamboo Data Center has an annual subscription model. Once the license expires, Bamboo 8+ will switch part of its operations to read-only mode and request a new license key. You will also not have access to support.
Here is a list of components whose behavior is changed when a Bamboo Date Center license expires:
Trigger handling is disabled/deactivated. The same place where “concurrent builds limit” is checked
Adding builds and deployments to the queue is disabled
Run, Run customized, and Run deployments are disabled
Shows a warning to Administrators about expired licenses with a link to the Update license page
Shows a read-only mode banner for other users so they’re not confused
