503 error in the UI when attempting to set up SSL

Symptoms

Installing Bamboo and setting up SSL following the instructions on this page: Running Bamboo over HTTPS, a 503 error shows up in the UI when starting the service. The following error appears in the logs:

Workaround

Edit the default jetty.xml under <bamboo-installation-directory>\webapp\WEB-INF\classes and remove "bamboo" from context path, it will look like:

1 <Arg name="contextPath">/</Arg>

Also, edit the system property line and add the missing "." before "./webapp", it will look like:

1 <SystemProperty name="bamboo.webapp" default="../webapp"/>

After these changes, save the file and re-start Bamboo.
