Create an Automation Rule in Trello that creates an Issue in Jira for certain actions

Steps to create an Automation Rule in Trello from the board to create issues in Jira for the actions specified

Solution

  • Navigate to the Trello board, and select Automation → Rules.

  • Select the option Create Rule to create a new one:

"Create Rule" in Trello Automation
  • Select Add Trigger and select any trigger from the list. Here, we are using the Card Added action from the board.

  • Under the actions Select Jira to add the site details:

  • Enter the Site URL and select the corresponding Project in which the issue has to be created.

  • Specify the Issue Type and Save the changes.

  • Create a new card from the Trello Board and it would create an issue in the Jira instance as configured.
