Quickly fix common recording errors

There are a few things that tend to fix most common problems such as recording crashes, glitches or recordings not starting. Here's a quick checklist we suggest you run through if you're having issues.

Choose which platform you're recording with: 👇
Loom Chrome extension
1Restart your Chrome browser & device This will often fix any temporary silliness.
Reset your Loom extension by removing and reinstalling it: Right-click on the Loom extension icon and then select Remove from Chrome. Restart your Chrome browser. Then reinstall it using this link here
Update your Chrome browser Make sure your browser is up-to-date. This will help aid Loom's compatibility. You can check this at chrome://settings/help.
Clear your Chrome cache. Open Chrome and enter the following URL in a new tab:Â chrome://history/Â Select 'Clear Browsing Data'
Check your upload speed here You'll need at least 5mbps upload speed to record successfully with Loom
Disable other Chrome Extensions Sometimes another extension can block Loom from recording.
Desktop App
Restart your device This will clear any bad statesÂ
Check for updates Open the Loom app. Click the ... app menu in the top right. Select UpdatesÂ
Manually reinstall your Loom App Delete or uninstall your current Loom app following the steps here. Restart your device. Download the most recent app version here. Ensure you're opening the most up-to-date version.
Check your upload speed here. You'll need at least 5mbps upload speed to record successfully with Loom
Window Devices only - Enable your Fallback recorder here. This will help to provide a more stable recording experience.
iOS
Force Quit App.Force quit the app by swiping up on your device and then re-open the application.
Check for updates. Open the App Store. Search for Loom. Select Update if available
Re-install your Loom App. Delete the current Loom app (hold down on the app icon and then click 'Remove App'). Restart your device. Download the most recent app version in the app store here.
Check your upload speed here. You'll need at least 5mbps upload speed to record successfully with Loom.
