Work logs missing from Work Log tab in Jira Cloud

Summary

Work logs, especially when created via API calls, are visible in the History tab but not in the Worklog tab. You've confirmed that the required permissions are in place, including Edit All Worklogs, Work On Issues, and View All Worklogs.

Solution

As discussed in our documentation, Jira Cloud applications support custom time tracking providers found in the Atlassian Marketplace. However, custom time tracking providers will not allow for logged work to appear in the Worklogs tab. Only the built-in Jira time tracking provider will display logged work in the Worklogs tab.

To change your time tracking provider:

  1. Select Settings, then Work items.

  2. In the sidebar, under Work item features, select Time Tracking.

  3. Choose the app from the Time tracking provider dropdown.
