Mobile for Jira breaks commenting on issue in Jira 8.0.X

Problem

When commenting on an issue, the below error pops up:

Diagnosis

Environment

  • Jira version 8.0.x / SD version 4.0.x

  • Mobile for Jira version 2.0.1 is installed and enabled

Symptoms

  • Commenting on an issue pops up an error.

    • Tested with Service Management issues for both Public and Internal comments.

  • On refreshing the page the comment is actually added.

  • Jira/SD email notifications may be affected.

Cause

This is caused by Mobile for Jira add-on whereby version 2.0.1 may not be fully compatible with Jira 8.0.x/SD 4.0.x.

Solution

Workaround

Disable Mobile for Jira add-on temporarily.

Resolution

Contact Mobile for Jira Support for a Fix Version.
