Jira prompts admins to upgrade the plan to Standard while Jira is already in Standard

Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.

Summary

At times, when we click on user profile at the top right corner we see an option to upgrade to the Standard plan (Try the Standard plan FREE 14-DAY TRIAL), even when the product is already in a Standard plan.

Solution

Please note that this option appears when you have JSM (Jira Service Management) in the free plan, and since JSM is a different Jira product, it may be a bit confusing.

By clicking the upgrade option, you will be directed to the billing page, where you can switch JSM from the free plan to the standard 14-day trial.
