Summary

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to delete automation rules in Jira Cloud. It is important to note that deleting an automation rule is a permanent action and cannot be undone. Therefore, ensure you are certain before proceeding with the deletion.

Solution

To delete an automation rule in Jira Cloud, follow these steps:

  • Access Jira Cloud Settings:

    • Log into your Jira Cloud account.

    • Click on the settings icon located at the top right corner of the page.

  • Navigate to System Settings:

    • From the dropdown menu, select "System" settings.

  • Open Global Automation:

    • Within the system settings, locate and select "Global Automation."

  • Delete the Desired Automation Rule:

    • Find the automation rule you wish to delete.

    • Click on the three dots (ellipsis) next to this rule.

    • From the options presented, click on "Delete."

Important Note:

The deletion of an automation rule is irreversible. Once deleted, all configurations and logic associated with that rule will be permanently lost. If you are unsure about deleting a particular rule, consider disabling it instead. This allows you to preserve its configuration for potential future use without executing its actions.
