What can I do to improve the way customers report bugs?

Here are some tips we recommend to improve the bug reporting experience in your portal:

  • Add instructions to your request types that use the bug issue type. You can encourage your customers to report each of their problems on a separate request to help track bugs.

  • Use natural language to ask for information. For example, if you add a field to collect expected behavior, you can say What did you expect to happen?.

  • Check in with your development teams often to ask if they need any more information.

  • Check in with your Jira administrators to ask if there are changes to screens that you should reproduce in your request types.
