Summary
Any story assigned to a Kanban Team has random - very far-out dates that don't correspond to Program Increment (PI) correctly in the Backlog. Some Stories are planned for completion after the Feature's Planned Completion Iteration.
Learn how the target completion date calculated for a Kanban Team.
Solution
For the Kanban story which is not assigned to a sprint, the target completion date is not based on the PI but is based on "throughput”.
If you don't have one set yet (new team), you can go to the team and set the throughput. The throughput sets how many stories can be completed per week. The week is Monday through Friday. For Sudeep Team in the below example, it is currently set to 1 story per week.
This can be found on Team > teams: select your team.
The stories in the backlog are initially listed alphabetically. It is important you go in and rank them in the order you plan to work them. So if you put 5 in the throughput, it will take the 1st 5 stories in the backlog and put them in the 1st week, the next 5 stories in the 2nd week, etc. You can see which stories are in each week in the Team Room.
