Unable to access Page as a site-admin- error: You've stumbled on a restricted content

How can space or site admins remove restrictions on content or pages when a user who set those restrictions has left the organization and the admins cannot access them?

Solution

Remove page restrictions

Confluence and site administrators always have access to manage permissions for any space within their Confluence instance. If a space is ever without a space admin they can recover space permissions and remove the page restrictions:

To remove page restriction:

  1. Go to space settings.

  2. Click on Restricted under Manage content section.

  3. Look for the page in the restricted page list and click on padlock to remove restrictions:

ℹ️If the page is inheriting restrictions from a parent page, a space admin or the person who shared the page may be able to grant you access. As a site admin or space admin, if you know the parent page, follow the steps outlined above to remove restrictions from it. Once the restrictions on the parent page are lifted, you should be able to access the page.
