Diagnostic Steps
Check if any Office 2013 products are installed such as Project 2013 or Lync2013.
Cause
Installing any product from the Office 2013 family will install SharePoint 2013 Foundation Support which changes the way Word, Excel, etc. are expecting to be called via URL.
Solution
Resolution
Atlassian Technical Support does not cover support for Microsoft Products.
Un-install the Office 2013 tools and run the Office 2007 or Office 2010 repair tool

Upgrade to Office 2013
