Summary

Bitbucket uses the "ojdbc8-12.2.0.1-atlassian-hosted.jar" JDBC driver for the Oracle database and with the name of the driver, it looks to be supported with the Oracle 12c database.

This page covers the understanding of the JDBC driver which is required with Oracle 19c in Bitbucket Server and whether it should be upgraded or not.

Solution

Bitbucket do not use any specific Oracle 19c database features so in order to provide a universal driver for both 12c and 19c databases, Bitbucket is using a pre-built version of the driver ojdbc8-12.2.0.1-atlassian-hosted.jar which is tested for Bitbucket Server on both Oracle 12c and 19c databases. So we can say, an upgrade of the JDBC driver is not required for Oracle 19c in Bitbucket.
