Unicode characters are not displayed correctly after enabling transcoding diffs in a repository in Bitbucket Data Center

Summary
Unicode characters are not displayed correctly after enabling transcoding diffs in a repository.
Diagnosis
Unicode characters are correctly displayed in the source view of a file, however, in the "Diff to previous" section the same characters are not transcoded when the "Transcode diffs" option is checked.
Cause
This can happen when the browser renders the page and its previous content is cached.
Solution
Clearing the browser cache solves the problem, allowing the Unicode characters to be correctly rendered:
