Jira issue keys do not display the issue in Bitbucket Server

Summary
When Jira issue link in Bitbucket commits page is clicked, Jira issue is not displayed in Bitbucket Server. It errors out "Can't display issues"
Environment
Jira Software Version 9.4
Bitbucket Server Version 6.6
Diagnosis
No errors are seen in Bitbucket logs.
Cause
The issue may happen due to incompatible application links. As documented in application link matrix, Jira Software 9.4 uses AppLinks 9.0.5 plugin and Bitbucket 6.6 uses AppLinks 6.1.0. The difference of approx. three major versions make the application links less compatible causing the problem
Solution
Upgrade Bitbucket Server to a supported version for application link compatibility.
