Summary

Bamboo offers a permission level called "Restricted Admin". This allows the user to perform some administration operations, view and manage all plans and agents. However, it excludes permissions that directly influence the host on which the Bamboo Server is located, which is reserved for full administrators only.

You can find out more about it in the Bamboo permissions documentation.

Depending on your Bamboo instance's configuration, this feature might not be available as an option under the Global Permissions page.

Solution

If you don't see this permission under Global Permissions, it needs to be enabled in the Security Settings. For that, please:

  1. Navigate to the Administration area by clicking the cog icon.

  2. Select Overview.

  3. Open the Security Settings under the Security section.

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Edit button.

  5. Under the Change global security and permission properties section, check the Enable restricted administrator role box.

  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Save button.

That's it! The permission should now be available as an option under Global Permissions (cog icon > Overview > Global Permissions).
